Problem: Tenant does not appear on the dashboard for rent due, rent paid etc. Also their rent due is not automatically getting applied to their account each month, so their account is now innacurate.
Probable Causes:
- Tenant’s lease is marked as ‘expired’ or ‘closed’. While you can still interact with the tenant’s account (e.g. recording payments or refunds made, making corrections to their account, uploading documents etc) their account will not be automatically debited their rent due, nor will late charges be applied.
Solution: update their lease with a new expiry date. You will then also need to manually add debits to their account for any rent or other charges that should have been applied ( go to their account and Manually Add a credit or debit). - Tenant paid their rent in advance. In this case they will not appear on the ‘Rent Due’ section, as they are already up to date, and they won’t appear in the ‘Rent Paid This Month’ section, as they paid it in advance last month. To check their account you can go to Tenants > Leased Tenants and then click on their Account Balance. It should show either a zero balance, or a positive balance.
